CE MARKING

CE marking on shower enclosures has been mandatory since 2007.

PALME shower oases meet the requirements of EN 14428 and 12150, and are marked accordingly:

Durability

TÜV Rheinland has tested this product to ensure that it continues to function perfectly beyond the specified service life. To do this, TÜV Rheinland uses a test catalogue which, depending on the product and manufacturer specifications, defines the load and load reserve, as well as permitted changes to material and function. The test catalogue is based on internationally applicable standards and industry standards, and in fact goes even further than these. In the laboratory, the product was subjected to a load simulation and underwent maintenance according to the manufacturer’s specifications. After the test, no changes in the material or shape were found to impair the product’s function or safety. The keyword “durability” identifies products that are expected to remain safe and functional beyond the specified service life.

Dirt-repellent

TÜV Rheinland has tested this product to determine the extent to which dirt and impurities adhere to its sealed surface (little or not at all) when used as intended. To do this, TÜV Rheinland uses a test catalogue which, depending on the product and manufacturer specifications, defines minimum standards for the dirt-repellent property. The test catalogue is based on internationally applicable standards and industry standards, and in fact goes even further than these, and draws on research results and investigations into product properties. The product was tested according to these criteria in the laboratory. Depending on the product, typical soiling matter, such as toothpaste solution or soap solution, is applied. The product is left at an incline so the solution can run off. After a certain period of time, the amount of dirt remaining on the product is measured. If the result is 50 % better than an untreated reference product, the product passes the test. The keyword “dirt-repellent” confirms that the product meets TÜV Rheinland’s test criteria.

Easy to clean

TÜV Rheinland has tested whether this product is easy to clean. To do this, TÜV Rheinland uses a test catalogue which stipulates that the product can be cleaned with commercially available cleaning agents (according to the manufacturer’s specifications) or simply in accordance with the manufacturer’s care instructions. Areas in need of cleaning must be easily accessible. In addition, the product must have a special feature that facilitates cleaning, e.g. a water-repellent surface, which is put to the test in the laboratory. Furthermore, the product must not change with regard to surface quality, function or safety as a result of cleaning. The test catalogue is based on internationally applicable standards and industry standards, and in fact goes even further than these. The keyword “easy to clean” confirms that the product meets TÜV Rheinland’s test criteria.
