PALME’S HISTORY

THE PATH OF WATER.

How shower cubicles became shower oases: the pioneering spirit from the time that PALME was founded lives on in our company today and is combined with our passion for beautiful design, our meticulous approach and our tireless pursuit of maximum showering comfort.

Follow the path of the water and have a brief scroll through our history!

PRE-1972

A pioneering spirit and the ability to make the most of synergies were characteristics that the grandparents of the current owner clearly possessed. They ran a metalworking shop and a repair shop for agricultural machinery – combined with an inn and a petrol station! The business that the grandparents owned also built trailers for boats and supplied the bells for Linz Cathedral.

1972

The foundation stone was laid for the beginnings of PALME. Production of the first shower enclosures began in Taufkirchen.

1973

Beginning of product sales to wholesalers and specialist retailers all over Austria.

1992

Sales started at the subsidiary in Neuhaus/Inn in Germany.

2001 & 2006

Completion and commissioning of two new production halls with 3500 m² and 2500 m² of production area.

2009

Addition of a further hall (3500 m² in total) with a new, 35-metre long anodising plant. PALME is the only manufacturer of shower enclosures in Austria to anodise aluminium profiles up to a length of 2.2 metres.

2012 TO TODAY

PALME, still owned by the Prader family, is now the epicentre for high quality shower enclosures – service, sustainability, individuality and top quality are all hallmarks of PALME products. PALME currently employs approximately 230 staff.
